This is a special variety of evergreen pampas grass from New Zealand, relatively short growing so suitable for smaller gardens. It has distinctive tall creamy-brown flower plumes. Provides an interesting and structural addition to the garden, and the feathery plumes look great in a vase or as part of a flower arrangement.

This is an early flowering variety, with main plumes appearing in July or late summer, just as other plants start to fade. Easy to grow in a variety of locations, drought and frost hardy.

This is a red coloured variety. Native to New Zealand, the Phormium tenax is a perennial plant, producing long leaf fibres that have played an important role in the culture, history, and economy of New Zealand, used for fibres and medicines.

Will grow just about anywhere and is much propagated in gardens as an evergreen decorative plant, both in New Zealand and now worldwide. A magnificent feature plant for a large, sunny, garden. It will provide structure, and copes surprisingly well with wind and coastal sites, although needs hardening off in colder areas.
